We Want Heroes.
Goals. Mentors. Community.
Dragon Slayer Recovery are decentralized non-political, non-denominational, lifestyle hacking tribes of likeminded, no-bullshit, forward-thinking participants dedicated to self empowerment.
DSR participants work alone or in small meeting/training groups, towards personal strength, self healing, self determination, and independence from unhealthiness, addiction, and other toxic coping mechanisms.
DSR advocates for a heroic approach in helping individuals to conquer their own dragons. We feel that the traditional self-work programs we have been involved in had often fostered an attitude of powerlessness and victimhood, removing agency and accountability from the work that needed to be done. The DSR model became based around directly facing the real struggle to reclaim our strength and willpower; as opposed to depending on something outside of us to remove our shortcomings.
We approach this goal through organizing functional self-work teams, information distribution, mentorship, workshops, and assisting individuals to establish small "accountability squads" in their communities; supportive peer circles that work together in maintaining a positive direction towards their goals.
We base our most of our philosophy on the "Program": www.whatistheprogram.com.
DSR are real folks, with boots on the ground, putting in real work to overcome our struggles.
We are not stuffed shirts operating on intellectual theory alone. We swear, have tattoos, and have spent our time in the dirt. Many have recovered from histories of abuse, addiction, or incarceration, and know exactly the type of people who we want to help.
We strive towards these goals in our kitchens, meditation spaces, basement gyms, skate parks, river banks, sweat lodges, mosh pits, campgrounds, small fight clubs, private training gatherings, and bedrooms!
Anyone who agrees with our goals may work our program and support this project with us.
